IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz paid respects to Israel's fallen on Tuesday at a Yom Hazikaron ceremony at the Western Wall.

The IDF is Israel's wall of defense, Gantz said in his address, "While we are here, the IDF is out in the field, protecting us."

"We live in a different Middle East than the one we used to... Threats are rising all around us," he said, adding that "the IDF is ready for every battle and every mission."
