German Chancellor Merkel meets with Netanyahu in Jerusalem

German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem Monday afternoon for a scheduled meeting with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

The meeting was a part of a joint government meeting with the Israeli and German cabinets. At the same time as Merkel's meeting with the prime minister, members of the two cabinets met at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem.

Merkel was also scheduled to meet with opposition leader Tzipi Livni, President Shimon Peres and was to receive an honorary doctorate from Tel Aviv University on Tuesday.
