Haitians head to the voting booths

Haitians were expected to head to voting booths Sunday to cast their ballots for president, parliamentary deputies and senators, amid violence and suspicion of fraud that have already clouded the elections, reported the BBC.
The vote is the first since Haiti was devastated by an earthquake earlier this year that killed 230,000 people.
Haitian President Rene Preval, who has served two terms and is not allowed to run again, said on Saturday that Sunday was "an important day for the country's future."
