Horowitz demands fund freeze to haredi 'apartheid' schools

MK Nitzan Horowitz (Meretz) called on the Education Ministry to stop funding institutions that practice discrimination on Thursday, comparing such practices to apartheid.
"The education ministry must immediately stop the flow of funds to educational institutions that practice racial discrimination," Horowitz said.
The comments come in response to a high court petition alleging discriminatory practices against Sephardi students in ultra-Orthodox schools.
"The data revealed today in petitions to the High Court on haredi seminars proves again that in orthodox education, an apartheid regime operates against students of Sephardi heritage," he continued.
