House C'tee chair begins meeting to discuss Labor split

House Committee Chairman Yariv Levin (Likud) began a meeting Monday morning to discuss the request by five Labor MKs asking to hold a vote to approve a breakaway faction's formation.

Defense Minister and Labor party chair Ehud Barak submitted a request earlier on Monday to split from the party along with Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilani, Agricultural Minister Shalom Simhon, Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade and Commerce Orit Noked, and MK Einat Wilf.
