A Palestinian terrorist was shot and killed Thursday morning after opening fire at an IDF post near the settlement of Mevo Dotan.

IDF sources said that a Palestinian armed with a Kalashnikov assault rifle opened fire at a post just before 11 a.m. Troops from the Netzah Yehuda Battalion, known for its integration of haredi youths into the IDF, opened fire and killed the armed terrorist.

Terrorism in the West Bank has seen a sharp decline in 2010, with the lowest number of attacks in the past decade. The IDF was investigating the incident.
