IDF praises European Parliament's resolution on Schalit

The IDF on Monday praised the European Parliament's March 11 resolution demanding the immediate release by Hamas of abducted soldier Gilad Schalit, and the granting of all the rights to which he is entitled according to the Geneva Convention, including doctor's visits and communication with his parents.

“This is a clear and moral resolution calling for an end to the painful issue of Schalit’s confinement in contradiction to all accepted international criteria,” read an IDF statement. “Israel calls on the international community to continue to press Hamas for Schalit’s immediate release."
