Industry minister calls for end to Student Union boycott

"Just as we wouldn't want Turkey to boycott Israel, there's no place [for Israelis] to boycott manufacturers and chains," said Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor Shalom Simhon on Thursday.

The Food and Trajtenberg Committees are dealing with the rising food prices issue and "it is not the National student Union's duty to declare boycotts against chains, just as I wouldn't accept the Chamber of Commerce ceasing to fund student scholarships," explained Simhon.

"I am asking them [the National student Union] don't through the pail out with the milk. We need to deal with centralization and encourage competition, but we also need to stick to the rules."
