Iran opposition leaders barred from leaving country

TEHERAN, Iran — A prominent conservative lawmaker said Iran's opposition leaders are barred from leaving the country.
Mousa Qorbani is quoted by a state-run news agency as accusing "sedition leaders" of being "mohareb" — a term meaning that they arre "fighting God" — and won't be allowed to leave the country, referring to former presidential candidates Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mahdi Karroubi, as well as former reformist president Mohammad Khatami.
Qorbani is a member of the Judicial and Legal Committee of the conservative-dominated parliament. Though no official ban has been announced, Khatami was barred from traveling to Japan in April to attend a conference on dialogue between cultures.
