An member of Iran's parliament injected himself into the war of words between his country and Israel on Tuesday, saying that "if a military challenge is started against Iran... the Zionist regime will definitely be faced with a hell," Iran's FARS news agency reported.

The remarks by Iranian MP Javad Jahangirzadeh were reportedly in response to an interview with President Shimon Peres's last week, in which he said he believes Israel is "closer to utilizing the military option in dealing with Iran's nuclear program than it is to finding a diplomatic solution to the threat."

"[Israel] knows that war against Iran can be started by the other side, but certainly the end of such a war will not be decided by them," Jahangirzadeh added.
