Israel to host Interpol convention for first time

The Israel Police will host colleagues from around the world next month for the first Interpol conference to be held in the country.
"We are proud to host the leaders of the fight against crime and terrorism," Israel Police Commissioner, Insp.-Gen. Yochanan Danino, said.
Danino described Interpol's decision to hold the meeting in Israel as a "big honor." He added that law enforcement agencies in Europe are facing many challenges, and that cooperation was vital for lowering crime and maintaining public order.
The Interpol conference, which will be the forty first international parley of its kind, will be held in Tel Aviv, and will include sensitive discussions behind closed doors. It will attracted some 200 police brass from 50 countries, as well as ministers and international observers.
