Israeli gymnast Valeria Maksyuta ended Sunday's qualification in tears after her dreams came to a painful ending at the North Greenwich Arena.

The 24-year-old, who made aliya from Ukraine five years ago, fell off the beam twice and lost her handling once in the uneven bars, recording an overall result of 45.699 in the All-Around qualifiers.

"I worked really hard to get here, but I just couldn’t do it," a shocked Maksiuta said. "I can't explain what happened here. This is undoubtedly the biggest disappointment I have experienced in my life. I'm in shock and I don’t even want to go home."
