A 22-year-old reserve soldier was stabbed in an apparent attempt to steal his weapon in Jaffa on Sunday morning.

An unknown youth stabbed the soldier in his chest. A Magen David Adom team transported him to Icholov hospital in moderate to light condition.

Around 8 a.m. Sunday morning, on Rehov Yehuda Yamit in Jaffa near Shavtei Israel, a young man attempted to grab the reserve soldier's weapon and stabbed him. The  suspect escaped without the weapon.

Police were in the area looking for the suspect.
