A documentary titled Jews of Egypt will be screened in Egyptian cinemas starting on March 27, according to a statement on Twitter on Wednesday by the film’s director, Amir Ramses.

Ramses spent three years researching and shooting the film, according to an interview in February he gave to Ahram Online. He said that he was interested in the subject because over the past 10 years he has “been consumed with the quest for defining Egyptian identity.”
