Jumblatt pledges support of Hizbullah-backed candidate

Walid Jumblatt, the influential Lebanese leader of the Druse sect who heads an 11-member bloc in Parliament, has announced his support of the Hizbullah-backed prime minister candidate Nijab Mikati, Reuters reported Monday.
The announcement comes after his pledge to support Hizbullah and Syria in upcoming elections, and his decision could lead to another seven lawmakers from his bloc following suit.
