The Knesset passed the Israel Beiteinu-endorsed civil union bill on Monday night at a midnight voting session. The bill passed at second and third hearings.

Israel Beiteinu had promised - and grounded in its coalition agreement with the Likud - that by the one-year anniversary of the forming of the government, it would succeed in legislating the bill.
