Opposition leader Tzipi Livni on Tuesday denounced EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton's comparison of a Jewish school shooting in Toulouse, France that left 4 dead with the situation in Gaza, and called on her to retract the statement.

"The EU foreign policy chief's comparison of children murdered in Toulouse and the murder perpetrated by Assad in Syria with the situation in Gaza is unacceptable, outrageous and wrong," Livni said.

"There is no similarity between an act of hatred or a leader killing members of his nation and a country fighting terror, even if civilians are harmed," Livni added.
