Livni: Rabbis' letter on renting to Arabs against Zionism

December 21, 2010 21:11

Kadima head Leader Tzipi Livni expressed her opposition to the recent religious edict signed by dozens of Rabbis forbidding the rental or sale of property to Arabs, at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem on Tuesday.

"I will oppose any opportunity to prevent the rental of apartments to Arabs and will oppose anybody who tries to use Jewish law as a pretext to claim that it is part of Israel's values - it is not," Livni said. "It is against the Zionism, Judaism and democracy that led our predecessors to establish this country and to take pride in being part of the [Israeli] society," she added.
