A Palestinian protester died after being shot in the chest during clashes with Israeli police at the Temple Mount, Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported Friday evening, citing medics.

Talat Ramia, 25, died at the Palestine Medical Complex during surgery, and five other Palestinians were injured, according to Ma'an.

Security forces used force to disperse hundreds of Muslim worshipers at the site, who rioted and threw stones following a tense week in the Old City.

Eleven police officers were lightly injured and treated at the scene. Four rioters were detained though a number of additional arrests are expected over the weekend.
