Former OC Human Resources Maj.-Gen. (Res.) Elazar Stern is formally joining the Tzipi Livni Party, headed by Tzipi Livni, it was announced Thursday.

Stern, 56, served in the paratroopers and was commander of the Officers School, Education Officer and Head of Manpower in the IDF.

Stern is seen as a key member of the national-religious camp.

A spokesperson for the party said in a statement: "There is no doubt Elazar is an example of someone who is able to make a difference in these times."
