Border Policeman shoots, kills wife, self in Bat Yam

A Border Police officer shot his wife to death and then shot and killed himself in the couple's apartment in Bat Yam, Tel Aviv police reported on Sunday afternoon.

Paramedics who arrived at the couple's home on Harav Herzog street in the city found the woman lifeless on the floor and pronounced her dead at the scene, while the husband, a Border Police officer aged 28, was rushed to Wolfson Hospital in critical condition. Within a half hour police reported that efforts to save his life had failed.

Police said that they don't know of any history of domestic violence involving the couple, who leave behind a two-year-old son. As in killings involving police officers, the shooting will be investigated by the Police Investigative Unit of the Justice Ministry.
