A man was arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of murdering his partner at their house in the Rehov, a moshav near Beit Shean.

The man, 64, was found not far away from the couple’s single-level house on the moshav, soon after the 45-year-old victim was pronounced dead by paramedics on the floor of the house.

Beit Shean Police Chief Amos Shimoni said officers came to the house Tuesday morning after getting a domestic violence call from a neighbor.

The couple lived in the house until their recent separation. They have a seven-year-old son together, and police and social workers are currently trying to determine if he witnessed the crime.

The Beit Shean Magistrate’s Court issued a gag order on the case Tuesday, banning the publication of any details of the investigation, which is being handled by the Northern District’s special investigative unit.
