Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov, who coordinates the annual Lag Ba’Omer celebrations at the tomb of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yohai on Mount Meron, called on the government Thursday to invest in the site, saying it has "great tourism potential."
The Tourism Ministry recently formulated a NIS 31 million multi-year plan for the development of the tomb complex. Maximizing the tomb's potential, Misezhnikov said, "requires comprehensive and unequivocal government commitment."
