July 3, 2011 17:38

Police acceded Sunday afternoon to a request for personal protection by four former police officers in Nahariya after one of the four shot in an apparent assassination attempt late Saturday, Army Radio reported. The former detective was one of four officers who served time in prison for targeting the home of an organized crime chief with explosives.

Previously, security guards were stationed at the former officers's homes and patrol cars regularly passed by their homes, but following the shooting incident the four will receive bodyguards, according to the report.
