Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on Wednesday for all the forces of militant Islam, including Iran and Islamic State, to be weakened and to not prob up one or the other.

"The Middle East is imploding all around us. States that have existed for a century are disintegrating. The forces of militant Islam are rushing to fill the void, the militant Sunnis led by ISIS, the militant Shiites led by Iran," the premier said at a 4th of July event held by the US Embassy to mark America's Independence Day.

"For the mullahs that rule Tehran, Israel is the small Satan and America is the great Satan," he added, while lauding the "unbreakable bond" between Washington and Jerusalem.
