New rules aim to deter violence against medical staffers

The Knesset on Monday approved regulations to minimize physical and verbal violence in medical institutions by their directors’ warning a violent person and even ejecting or preventing his or her entrance for a period of six months at a time.
Dr. Leonid Eidelman, chairman of the Israel Medical Association, which initiated the regulations, said they will help doctors who on a daily basis are exposed to incidents of violence by patients, their relatives and friends.
