Nine-year-old girl drowns off Ashkelon coast

A nine-year-old girl drowned Tuesday night off the coast of Ashkelon. The girl and her older sister had gone for a night swim, but the latter lost sight of her younger sibling. An MDA team stopped the girls' mother from going into the water to look for her daughter. The girl's body eventually washed up on the shore, and the MDA team attempted to resuscitate her before evacuating her to Ashkelon's Barzilai Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.
