Olmert: Autobiography not meant to divert public attention

Former prime minister Ehud Olmert on Monday rejected accusations that he publicized the first chapters of his autobiography to divert public attention from his legal troubles, Army Radio reported.
In his first interview since the beginning of the controversy, Olmert said that he did not write the criticisms against Defense Minister Ehud Barak as a form of revenge.
"When you write personal memories there are two options, either embellish the details or write them as they really happened," said Olmert. "I took it upon myself not to embellish anything and not make it easy for myself or anyone else," he added.
