Open University Student Union joins NUIS

The Open University’s student union announced this week that it has officially joined the National Union of Israeli Student.
Following the move, which was made possible after negotiations between the parties,  some 50,000 students of the Open University will be represented by NUIS, making the national organization the largest student body in the country with 350,000 students.
National Union of Israeli Students Chairman Uri Reshtick said in a statement that the addition is “an important step” that will allow NUIS to ”act more intensely in advancing issues concerning the student population in Israel.”
Reshtick added that the “close cooperation” between the organizations will “grow and strengthen from now on.”
“We are pleased to be part of the national body representing students in Israel, and plan to take part in national initiatives for the benefit of students at the Open University, and all over Israel in general,” Chairwoman of the Open University student union Maayan Mor added.
