The Palestinian Authority labor minister estimated Monday that around 2,000 Palestinians are in custody of Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime, Palestinian News Agency Ma'an reported.

Ahmad Majdalani told Ma'an that some 1,300 of the 2,000 Palestinians in Syrian jail were thought to have taken part in the fighting there between Assad's forces and rebel fighters.
