Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Wednesday called newly elected Kadima chairman Shaul Mofaz to congratulate him on his victory in Tuesday's primary.

The two arranged to meet within the framework of the regular update meetings held between the prime minister and the leader of the opposition.

Mofaz will be the fourth head of the Kadima party, having won 61.7 percent of the vote and besting incumbent Tzipi Livni in the final count.
