Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu phoned Mexico's president-elect Enrique Pena Nieto on Wednesday and congratulated him on his election victory on Sunday.

"I am certain that Israeli-Mexican relations will continue to develop and tighten during your term in office," Netanyahu said.

The two men met two years ago when Pena Nieto visited Israel, and they agreed on the phone to meet again in the future.
