PM names new director-general

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced Wednesday the appointment of Harel Loker, the brother of his Military Secretary Maj.-Gen. Yohanan Loker, as his new director-general.
Loker will replace Eyal Gabai, who quit some four months ago and whose position has been filled until now by cabinet secretary Zvi Hauser.
Loker, 46, is currently a partner with the large Tel Aviv law firm, S. Friedman & Co., specializing in tax law, real estate, commercial law, joint ventures and venture capital.  A statement put out by the Prime Minister's Office said he has rich experience with the business sector and in working with government offices.
The appointment is scheduled to be brought to the cabinet for approval on Sunday.
