Peres slams UN HR group that depicts Israel as evil

President Shimon Peres on Sunday denounced the reports of the Geneva headquartered United Nations Council on Human Rights which invariably depict Israel as the evil doer rather than the victim, while never condemning the human rights abuses of those who attack Israel.
Peres was responding to a remark made by Swiss Foreign Minister Didier Burkhalter during their meeting at the President's official residence.
Burkhalter in references to improved relations between Switzerland and Israel, spoke of a Swiss-Israel dialogue on United Nations human rights issues, to which Peres replied that while Israel is appreciative of the role played by Switzerland in working towards the renewal of the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians, there had to be some rethinking with regard to human rights.
"If you have a frame with the wrong scale, the frame becomes unimportant," said Peres, declaring that one cannot have violators of human rights on a human rights council.
