Police raise level of alert for Purim

The Israel Police has raised its level of alert to Operational Level C ahead of Purim, Insp.-Gen. David Cohen announced on Thursday.
"We are at a sensitive period filled with unusual events in the world and in the country," Cohen said during an evaluation held with police chiefs at national headquarters in Jerusalem.
During Purim, from March 18 to March 21, police will beef up forces around open air celebrations, Purim parades, and costume parties.
Police will increase deportations of Palestinians who enter Israel illegally as well as those who transport, house and employ them.
Last week, police raised the alert level to Operational Level B following the brutal terrorist attack in Itamar which resulted in the murder of five members of the Fogel family.
