Multiple protests calling for the severing of diplomatic ties with Israel were held in Jordan on Friday, Israel Radio reported.

The demonstrations, including one held near the Israeli embassy in Amman, called for the removal of Jordan's newly-appointed ambassador to Israel and the cancellation of the peace treaty between the two countries, according to the report.

Protestors also were heard denouncing the Balfour Declaration, published exactly 95 years ago Friday, in which Britain publicly announced its support for the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people.
