Report: Fayyad intends to refuse PA prime minister post

If offered the Palestinian Authority premiership in a Fatah-Hamas unity government, current PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad plans to reject the post, Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported Monday, citing sources close to Fayyad.

The Fatah central committee nominated Fayyad to be the next PA prime minister, but Hamas said it "will not agree on Salam Fayyad as prime minister, or even a minister in the upcoming unity government, senior Hamas leader Salah al-Bardawil said, according to the report.
