The head of Syria's air force intelligence, Lieutenant Jamil Hassan has been assassinated in his Damascus office by one of his aides, Syrian opposition sources told Al Arabiya on Sunday.
According to Al Arabiya, the air force intelligence chief was targeted as rebel groups within the country have been bombed by pilots loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime. Reports suggest that the regime has recently increased its use of air power against the rebels, raising the number of civilian casualties.
