Seven Syrian army generals defected to Turkey on Tuesday to join rebel forces, Turkish news agency Anadolu reported.
According to Anadolu new agency, the generals arrived at the Turkish-Syrian border and asked to be taken as refugees. They crossed the border in Reyhanli town at the southern province Hatay under tight security.
Turkey currently gives shelter to 112,000 Syrian refugees. Army defectors stay in the Apaydin camp in Hatay providence where security is tighter, according to an AFP report.
