A security officer shot and killed a man who tried to steal a car overnight Monday in Moshav Kfar Bin-Noon, near Modi'in. The officer said he conducted a car chase after the alleged car thief and an accomplice, until they reached a dead-end. At that point, the two suspects exited the car they had broken into and began approaching the officer, who felt threatened and fired at the men, killing one of them. After a preliminary investigation, border police justified the security officer's actions, saying that he fired the shots in self defense after the perpetrators tried running him over.
