Supermarket chain "Mega" on Monday announced it will raise its prices by an average of 5%.

The move follows competitor Shufersal's decision last week to raise prices on hundreds of products by an average of 4%.

Interior Minister Eli Yishai last Wednesday called on the public to use its power of boycott to protest the price hikes.
