Suspect rams into police roadblock

Three people were wounded – two lightly and one moderately – when the driver of a stolen car rammed into a police roadblock in Ramle on Saturday evening.
The car had been stolen from Rishon Lezion, prompting a tracking chip planted in the vehicle to alert a Sky Lock security company control center.
Police trailed the vehicle as it passed the Beit Dagan intersection, and subsequently set up a roadblock in Ramle.
Upon identifying the roadblock, the driver drove through police lines and struck vehicles occupied by a number of civilians.
Three of them were evacuated to the Assaf Harofeh Hospital in Tzrifin.
The suspect abandoned his car and fled the scene by foot. Patrol cars from the Ramle and Lod police stations are searching for the suspect with the help of a police helicopter.
