Syria's UN representative, Bashar Al-Jafari, warned during a UN Security Council meeting on the Middle East on Tuesday that Syria would retaliate against "Israeli aggression."
Jafari said Syria would "exercise its legitimate right to self-defense and respond to Israeli aggression at Damascus International Airport by attacking Ben-Gurion Airport."
Over the past few weeks, tensions have run high between the two countries as Israel has continued to bomb Iranian militias entrenched in Syria. Several targets have been in close vicinity to Damascus International Airport.
