TA marathon: One dies, many suffering heat stroke

A 30-year-old man died on Friday morning and 12 others were in serious condition after taking part in the Tel Aviv marathon in the extreme heat.

Four runners, who suffered heat stroke and dehydration, collapsed while taking part in the run and had to be ventilated and anesthetized by Magen David Adom Paramedics.

Dozens of other runners also fainted.

Some 35,000 runners took to the streets of Tel Aviv to take part in the event and some 150,000 came to cheer them on.
