Tel Aviv to seek public transport on Shabbat

The Tel Aviv municipality will request permission from the Transportation Ministry on Monday to run public transportation on Shabbat.
In a Facebook post, Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai has thrown his support behind the first-time initiative.
The request comes a week after a week after an activist group called "Free Israel" launched a campaign to allow public transportation to run during Shabbat.
