The Construction and Housing Ministry is poised in the next few days to issue new tenders homes in West Bank settlements including 294 in Beitar Illit, 40 in Karnei Shomron and 40 in Efrat, according to a Channel 10 report.

MK Zahava Gal-On (Meretz) immediately attacked the move. She accused Netanyahu of pandering to his "coalition of settlers" instead of looking out for Israel's diplomatic interests. Such action, she warned, will "torpedo" any negotiation efforts with the Palestinians and will only serve to further isolate Israel.
