Trade and Industry Ministry inspector charged with bribery

An indictment was filed by the Northern District Attorney's Office on Sunday against a former Trade and Industry Ministry inspector on charges of accepting bribes and breach of trust.
Shlomo Menachem was responsible for enforcing and monitoring the living conditions of foreign workers employed on farms in the north. According to the indictment, Menachem asked the farmers he visited in his capacity as a government inspector to "donate" to a synagogue, and then used the money for his own personal affairs.
