Former National Security Council chairman Uzi Arad on Thursday corrected earlier erroneous reports that he had confirmed Israel's involvement in the assassination of Hezbollah mastermind Imad Mughniyeh.

"Mughniyeh isn't the issue," he told The Jerusalem Post. "Iran is."

Arad went on to say that Iran holds Israel responsible for operating against its nuclear program and terror affiliates "regardless of what we say."

"The Iranians say that if we stage a military attack then they will respond," Arad went on to say. "But they're the ones engaging in terrorist activity."
