Israeli security forces noted a significant increase in the number of attacks in the West Bank and in Jerusalem, Israel Radio reported on Wednesday.

The report stated that during the month of September there were 91 attacks in these areas, compared to 51 in August.

According to the Shin Bet, one explanation for the sharp surge is the Palestinian protests in the West Bank over the difficult economic situation.
