Yishai: 'We need to hold back the tsunami' of rising prices

Interior Minister Eli Yishai said on Tuesday that Israel is "on the brink of a socio-economic crash," due to the Finance Ministry's price hikes, Ma'ariv reported.

"It's the government's responsibility to protect the public," Yishai said. "We need to open our eyes after this social blindness. We need to hold back the tsunami."

Yishai said that Shas plans to propose bills that will lower prices, even if the coalition opposes them.
